Dr. Kane is certified by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) as a board certified plastic surgeon and is an active member of both the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Kane's training in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery was extensive, including 7 years of residency and fellowship and 3 years as an Assistant Professor of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the prestigious Mayo Clinic. Dr. Kane is also board certified in Head and Neck Surgery and has extensive experience with surgery of the head and neck, not only relating to cosmetic procedures, but also in the realm of craniofacial, trauma and cancer reconstruction. Dr. Kane brought the specialty of plastic surgery to Petoskey and has been serving the community as the only plastic and reconstructive surgeon on the medical staff of Northern Michigan Regional Hospital since 1999. He has enjoyed participation in pro bono plastic surgical endevours in numerous underserved destinations around the world including Thailand, Honduras and El Salvador. He attends numerous courses and seminars each year to stay contemporary and to maintain the highest level of surgical quality, service and safety for his patients.
